Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) Escanaba High School

Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) is a national program offered in thirty states with a thirty year history of serving at-risk students in a project-based, classroom setting. Michigan Works! the Job Force Board has partnered with four area schools in its  central Upper Peninsula of Michigan coverage area. Each school’s students are called a Career Association, and the students create activities in Career Exploration, Social Awareness, Civic Awareness and Leadership. The students at Escanaba High School receive one credit hour for daily learning experiences aimed at ensuring graduation, setting and completing educational goals and preparing for employment readiness. The students gain  knowledge about business correspondence, resume writing, employment interviewing skills, public speaking, telephone techniques, job shadowing, and decision-making.
